How the hell are the plots of Field of Desire and Borderman the same? That's such an ignorant claim.

They're both about a man with some power over a group of people who falls in love with someone within the group. It is frowned upon by society. People begin to suspect and the man must choose between his love and his job.

I was mildly offended that no one else seems to have noticed the similarities. The plot points are even revealed in a similar manner. I felt like you ripped off my baits.

And don't call me ignorant, that's impolite.

First off, it is an ignorant claim because you fail to look at the other factors of both baits. It may be impolite, but when you accuse me of plagiarism, which could hurt my reputation and suspend me from the contest, I really don't give a damn if it's impolite of not.

I can see how you may think they are the same, given the comment you just made, but your forgetting one big detail. My bait is based on things that have happened in the past. "They're both about a man with some power over a group of people who falls in love with someone within the group" Yes field of desire has this because slave owners actually fell in love with their slaves. When was the last time anyone seen a headline that stated "Border patrol guard falls in love with Mexican". The events in my bait were inspired by events that actually occured. You fail to take that into consideration.

"It is frowned upon by society"- It's pretty obvious that the time the bait takes place is in the dark times of slavery. It was common for slaveowners (and their wives) to be prosecuted in a town if they were involved romantically with a slave. Maybe not as harsh as the punishment the slaves got, but still they were punished and shunned by their surrounding society. Again based on actual events.

"The man must choose between his love and his job". Then I assume The godfater, The Godfather part 2, Ran, and Shiendler's list must of all stolen ideas from you? Each one of those stated movies have some sort of theme between a man's decision between power and love. Hell even the recent Star Wars Episode 3 had a theme of choosing between power and love. Borderman is not the only thing in the entire world to feature the common theme that is Choosing between power and love.

I respect you as an author, but you basically just looked at the concept and said "Hey he stole my idea". It's obvious that you didn't even read the press section of field of desire or you would of spotted more things that differ from Borderman.

You state Tom Berenger's character is subtle and desperate. Viggo's character is nothing like that. He is a man of isolation who becomes confused about life and what he should do with it.

You describe Maribel's character as "villainous". Kerry Washington is no were near villainous. It's stated in my press section that she doesn't even have much dialogue in the bait, and that she relies more on body language to get the attention of Mostensen and the audience.

I don't even see how you think the plot points are revealed in similar matter, since by the third sentence Borderman is talking about a drug lord, while Field is talking about Mardea.

I usually don't criticize criticism, but when someone is advocating that I copied their ideas, I have to step in. I know this is your site and you can "say whatever the fuck you like" (as you often say) but next time if you have a problem like this I advise you to contact me (or anyone else) privately because this is huge mis-understandment, and your claims could easily get me suspended from the contest.
